The first-round pick loaned by the Wild Marco Rossi to the Swiss National League

With the NHL training camp and regular season schedule not yet established, the Minnesota Savage try to make sure their players stay ready for the game. With that goal in mind, the Wild announced today that their 2020 first-round pick Marco Rossi has been loaned to the Zürcher Schlittschuh Club (ZSC) Lions of the Swiss National League.

But before the fans started to think it was Kirill Kaprizov again we can take a deep breath, for as athleticism Michael Russo tweeted, Rossi’s ZSC deal terms contain an exit clause that will allow him to return to Minnesota for the start of training camp.

And has been reported frequently, Rossi is already convinced he will be on the roster this season.

The ZSC Lions have already started their 2020-21 campaign a month ago. Their next game is scheduled for Friday October 30 against HC Davos, so in a normal world Rossi could maybe make his debut then. But in a pandemic world, one would have to believe that there are tests and quarantine hurdles to overcome before the Austrian native sees the ice.

Watching the action live through legal channels is next to impossible if you live outside of Switzerland, but you can visit the Swiss League Game Center at for schedules, live scores and stats as well as highlight videos.
