Mom opens local ‘Bug, Bear & Bean’ candle store

EASTWOOD, NY (WSYR-TV) – A CNY native went from being a first responder to being a candle maker to pursue her dream and support her family. When Nikki Eiffe opened her candle store, she even named it after the names of animals she has for her three children.

After selling online and moving beyond her home business, she opened a storefront, “Bug, Bear & Bean” candles.

The candles she sells are also unique. Before starting her business, she switched to buying soy candles for her family for health reasons, and from there, she decided that she needed to find a solution to create soy candles that smell as strong as paraffin wax candles without all the toxins.

She began to try out different pouring techniques, and once she found the right one, chose the best ingredients to maximize the flavor while providing a soy alternative to her customers.

“I use all clean scent oils which are clean scents without phthalates, so they don’t release any toxins when they burn,” Eiffe said.
