New York Real Housewives Season 13 Episode 14 Recap https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/new-york-real-housewives-season-13-episode-14-recap/ https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/new-york-real-housewives-season-13-episode-14-recap/#respond Wed, 11 Aug 2021 02:45:44 +0000 https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/new-york-real-housewives-season-13-episode-14-recap/

I’ve always said about Ramona Jane Singer that she might be a freak, but at least she’s our freak. Well, just like when Big Bird caught Grover in bed with Snuffleupagus, it’s time to throw that monster out with the trash. (Wait, so wouldn’t that be Oscar? Ugh, that Sesame Street the metaphor no longer tickles my Elmo.) The thing we’ve always known about Ramona is that she tends to make every situation on her own. Sure. Well. This is what all the great practitioners of the reality TV arts and sciences do. But no one took that egocentricity and turned it into a malignancy like Ramona.

Just show her around a $ 17.9million two-bedroom apartment with a failure Million Dollar List show person and sixth housewife, Michael Lorber. Ramona took a 75 hour course to get her real estate license because she says she is bored and enjoys earning money. She also needs a screenplay for the second season of Handmaid’s Tale. She is only three courses away from eligibility. Yes, that means Ramona is a prix fixe menu far from terrorizing Manhattan’s wealthy in a whole new way.

This tour is a trial run, and Michael enlisted his friend Jordan, presumably another gay man from Sag Harbor, to come from Connecticut for an afternoon of harassment by the world’s worst salesman in a Chanel suit. The star of the show should be the apartment, but Ramona does it all for herself. She talks about her dizziness looking out the windows; she talks about how Michael interrupts her; she talks about where she would put a grand piano in the apartment as if she were already moving into her furniture. Ramona, this guy has no interest in buying you, and after this performance, which was worse than his tap dancing on new floors in his high heels, he has no interest in buying the apartment either.

Before we get to Ramona’s horrific performance at Shabbat dinner – which everyone thinks of as a Seder, which is a whole different thing – there are a few brief interludes with the other characters. Eboni discovers that his DNA has matches in the online records, so a nice lady named Linda, who wears particularly attractive jeans, will try to find the clusters that match Eboni’s DNA and try to triangulate exactly who is. his father.

Next is an appointment for Sonja Tremont Morgan of Wind Breaker Gas Displacement Pills Morgans. I trusted Devyn, Eboni’s friend. I really did. Then she installed my favorite floozy with a pair of cracked Ray-Ban. I mean, what’s up with this guy? He’s in commercial real estate, which he admits was in deep shit before the pandemic completely wiped him out. He sold his house in the south of France. He’s on his fourth back surgery and it’s not even due to some kind of exotic accident. Sonja guesses all the usual suspects, skiing, tennis, falling off Diddy’s yacht because Carmen Electra tries to spray you with a bottle of champagne and Dennis Rodman tries to give you a purple nurple. But no. None of those things. He just has a “bad spine.”

Then this Brandon character, who was clearly lying in his profile photos, doesn’t want to have dessert with Sonja. She talks about how she wants to see him again, and he says they will, but they won’t. That wet Roman candle that won’t light is going to say that Sonja, our Sonja, isn’t good enough for him, a man whose body is the exact shape of a Cadbury Crème Egg in a heat wave. No wonder all these women are single. There isn’t an eligible bachelor in Manhattan who hasn’t married their nanny.

Let’s move on to the dinner hosted at a Summit, New Jersey home, as nothing is happening this season in Manhattan except the women boarding various sun-dried party buses. This “Black Shabbat” as Eboni calls it, or “Black Sabbath” as Sonja calls it, brings together some of her black friends with whom she traveled in Israel, her Jewish friend Archie and the real housewives of New York. Most of the time, what he gathered was Ramona’s voice with everyone’s exasperated ears.

Leah was exposed to COVID and had to self-quarantine, so the only Jewish member of the cast (well, once she converts) has to jump. But she insists on Zooming in on the debates. OK fine. It’s one thing if you set her up next to Elijah’s chair and she just watches, but Leah thinks she’s going to be an active part of this dinner. She talks to women insisting that they listen to her and at times shouting as the action unfolds. Ramona is reprehensible about this dinner party, but the only thing she’s right about is trying to hang up Leah five minutes after dinner starts. A solo conference call does not participate in an in-person meeting. This is exactly what Gd had planned. (But props to Luann after Leah sang her prayer for saying, “Boom, you can sing,” as if Luann knew what a good voice would look like if it fell from the sky and gave him a Coke Zero.)

Ramona begins as soon as they arrive, telling Archie, the party’s host, that his towels are ugly and way too big. Once Archie tells Ramona that she made them herself, she continues to laugh at them, trying to make a blouse out of them. I don’t remember Sonja getting this hot when she tried to pretend JP Morgan’s sheets were towels a few seasons ago. Next, Ramona tries to explain to Archie how Challah bread (unrelated to Heather “Holla” Thompson) is like the Ukrainian bread she grew up with, as if Ramona knew more about what was about to happen than the woman. who planned everything apart.

The real problem begins when Archie explains that she worries about the relationship between Jews and the black community. Ramona pipes in the sense that Italians have a lot in common with Jews too because they both love tradition. She learned it by watching violin on the roof to Nolita. Eboni tries to explain that there is something different when two groups of oppressed people come together in their struggles because they are all fighting against white supremacy. Ramona says she cares too. Everyone cares. Eboni responds with the fact that she is the only one to have suffered an award.

Ramona can’t take this. She then tells us that she was rejected by Jewish children when she went to college because she was a Christian. I mean OK. Sure. It may have happened. Maaaaaay-be it is true. But there is more to this story. Why was she surrounded by so many Jews, and why were they all against her? Is it because she kept saying offensive things like she does during this event? Does it have anything to do with the Jewish man she was engaged to whom she dumped because he didn’t properly thank her for changing her religion? I’m going to need a statement from one of these Jewish children before I can pass judgment.

As Archie tries to tell Ramona it must have been painful, but they’ll respond to his pain in a minute, Leah yells at him on the phone that it’s not white people right now, and Eboni, once. moreover, tries to figure out how to prevent his new colleagues from breaking up all that is dear to him. Ramona says, “No one is going to listen to me,” and gets up and walks away, which is a classic Ramona strategy. Everyone is angry that she left when she comes back to the table and she says, “I went to pee. God. I can’t pee now! Now all she does is hijack and cover up. She casts bad behavior as if they are so many ninja stars, hoping that one of them will blind, bloody or maim everyone present so that she doesn’t have to sit with it. his own bad opinions.

The way she defends herself, the “all lives matter” of it all, seems to be Fox News talking points. But Ramona is not that calculated; she is not that trained. I was trying to figure out where this animus came from when Eboni fully elucidated it. She says Ramona cannot remain uncomfortable in the face of racial or religious oppression. She cannot just listen and consider her part in the struggles of others. She needs it to be about her too. She needs to see her part in any narrative because, as a white, narcissistic person, that’s what she’s used to.

Ramona is now done talking about how she cried at night wanting to be Jewish and is now just marauding around the party with garden variety rudeness. She fixes everyone on the fact that she hasn’t eaten all day and how she lost the three pounds she gained over Thanksgiving, as if someone at the table cares about her problems. weight. The editors, the real lies in every situation, give us a montage of Ramona eating all kinds of stuff on the bus ride to rebut her claim that she hasn’t eaten all day and needs to eat now.

She then takes charge of the dinner, goes into the kitchen and tells them that she must eat immediately as if it is not a cultural dinner where there is a planned menu that she should graciously participate in. She tells them that she doesn’t want what they have in the kitchen because they are not healthy snacks. She demands chicken. She must have chicken now, and she’ll burn this whole house down if that means she doesn’t have to listen to how blacks and Jews could have worse than her. She turns around the kitchen, she turns around the table, like a goblin making a jig, demanding, diverting, denigrating, destroying. He’s a monster, okay, and I don’t know why somebody doesn’t already give him a stake by heart.

Ikea has made instructions for you to reuse its products https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/ikea-has-made-instructions-for-you-to-reuse-its-products/ https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/ikea-has-made-instructions-for-you-to-reuse-its-products/#respond Mon, 09 Aug 2021 13:00:28 +0000 https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/ikea-has-made-instructions-for-you-to-reuse-its-products/

Now, the brand’s Canadian branch has created instruction manuals to reuse some of its products for a variety of different uses. “Reused Instructions” shows how to recycle furniture and other items that might otherwise be thrown at the curb. Guides provide instructions for starting projects like turning a Valdoft candle holder into a planter, to an intermediate project like making Frakta bags in a hanging garden, to really advanced moves like turning an Ivar cabinet into a beehive.

This is just the Swedish retailer’s latest move to focus their marketing on how we can all live more responsibly with their products, which aren’t known to be particularly well-made or durable. In June, Ikea Norway launched “The Trash Collection,” which gave broken and discarded Ikea furniture the catalog treatment, to find out how its products can be reused to reduce waste.

All of this is in line with Ikea’s commitment to become fully circular by 2030, which requires designing products using only renewable, recycled and recyclable materials; and eliminate waste.

In its press release, the company said, “We truly believe in the power of small, lasting acts that people can do in their daily lives. These explicit, instruction-based efforts seem to be more effective at this end than some of its more recent marketing fluffs, such as an Ikea ad launched in January that depicts a giant meteor made of trash, where the only way to stop it was to stop it. people are changing their lifestyle. Or in May, when the brand published a spot about a little robot trying to save the planet by cleaning up things like plastic bags and an oil spill. Both are cute, but ultimately a lot less useful than some IRL walkthroughs to actually help us. Creative utility FTW.

Saints training camp diary, August 6: quarterback competition update https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/saints-training-camp-diary-august-6-quarterback-competition-update/ https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/saints-training-camp-diary-august-6-quarterback-competition-update/#respond Sat, 07 Aug 2021 02:20:00 +0000 https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/saints-training-camp-diary-august-6-quarterback-competition-update/

New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston (2) lines up for a drill during NFL football training camp in Metairie on Thursday, August 5, 2021 (AP Photo / Derick Hingle)

Though largely on purpose, the final days of camp neither illuminated a leader in the battle to succeed Drew Brees under center nor did the contestants justice. Alvin Kamara’s controls will remain paramount in Sean Payton’s creative system; we really need to see what every quarterback is doing at this point in the economy.

It’s slightly disappointing that the looming preseason doesn’t have an apparent favorite for Game 1 against the Baltimore Ravens. I would say Jameis Winston finished the week with the advantage after a strong Friday session that built on his strengths. It has also had more deviation from its course in recent days. Hill has yet to genuinely impress after a real performance at quarterback; he also threw fewer red flags, collectively.

The worst thing that could happen would be for a starter to stumble in the default role; No matter who you root for in this battle, we should all want a quarterback to eventually win it on merit. Instead, it has turned out so far: which is the lesser of two evils? One of the two quarterbacks is due to move the needle next week and by a large enough margin to award a true favorite. Developing positive traits that stick to one or both quarters is essential. Equally important is the awareness of the irremediable or strong downward trends in this race.

A Helpful Perspective Reset: Trey Lance isn’t arguing for the starting role because Jimmy Garoppolo loses it. Lance demands attention due to his marked improvement in mechanics, leadership presence, and ultimately lightless play.

Bonnie and Clyde’s Corner Market returns to the future in East Arlington | Local News https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/bonnie-and-clydes-corner-market-returns-to-the-future-in-east-arlington-local-news/ https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/bonnie-and-clydes-corner-market-returns-to-the-future-in-east-arlington-local-news/#respond Fri, 06 Aug 2021 18:26:23 +0000 https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/bonnie-and-clydes-corner-market-returns-to-the-future-in-east-arlington-local-news/

ARLINGTON EAST – “Wouldn’t that be nice,” Bonnie Curtis said, recalling her childhood, when the people of East Arlington could walk to the IGA to buy something for dinner or grab a treat at the confectionery or stroll through Candle Village du Moulin.

Wanting to bring some amenities back to their community, Bonnie Curtis and Clyde Baker, both originally from southern Vermont, decided to change ‘wouldn’t that be good’ to ‘isn’t that good’ by buying the property around the corner. from Old Mill Road and Sunderland Hill Road in East Arlington.

In mid-June, they opened Bonnie and Clyde’s Corner Market – a memorable name although it goes without saying that Curtis and Baker have nothing in common with the infamous Bonnie and Clyde from the early 1930s who would have been more likely to hold up a cafe rather than open one.

Initially, the plan was to renovate the building formerly known as King’s Variety Store, Chippenhook Variety Store and, more recently, East Arlington Takeout Restaurant, for a corner market that would sell groceries.

But the project snuck up on the couple, and Baker, who also owns Clyde Baker Construction, added a kitchen and a loft to the property, making the space suitable for a cafe with indoor dining.

The change of vision was a victory for East Arlington, which now has a renovated building that evokes old-world charm with smells of freshly cut wood – compliments of wooden beams and a plank ceiling – and simmering cooked meals. in the kitchen.

Outside, an inviting covered porch is furnished with black-painted wooden rocking chairs that provide diners the opportunity to enjoy a special breakfast or lunch al fresco, whatever the weather.

Curtis, a hard worker with a restaurant background, said, “We love good food,” but she, like many others, suffers from food allergies.

So when it came to choosing a menu, she admitted to making mostly dishes that she would eat. Curtis and Chef Rick Kulmane have created a menu filled with quality, homemade dishes that can curb any craving.

Examples: bahn mi with marinated pork, Monte Cristo, hand-cut fries and daily salads like beet salad and sesame noodles. For breakfast there’s a Taylor pork bun (loved by Jax, the Newfoundland who lives the road), yogurt parfaits, muffins, and a range of coffee and tea drinks.

A local theme supporting the locals emerged from Bonnie and Clyde’s even before the cafe opened.

Curtis said she enjoys stocking regionally sourced produce such as burgers from Hosley Hill Farm in Danby, CBD-infused seltzer from Kimball Brook Farm in Ferrisburgh, and dairy from Battenkill Valley Creamery, which is just across the country. across the border in Salem, New York. She also has a stock of locally made jams and Vermont-style kimchi.

When discussing the service and atmosphere at Bonnie and Clyde’s, patrons, who Curtis says include a good mix of local employees, Vermont residents and guests from out of town, use consistently the word “friendly,” which makes Curtis smile.

“Friendly. That’s what I want,” she said. “I don’t want it to be miserable.” And although “friendly” is frequently used, the words “Isn’t that nice?” Are too.

For an overview of Bonnie and Clyde’s menu, check out the Facebook page at facebook.com/Bonnie-and-Clydes-Corner-Market.

Bonnie and Clyde’s Corner Market is located at 13 Old Mill Road. in East Arlington. The store is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Close on Sunday.

Let’s fight for each other, not each other https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/lets-fight-for-each-other-not-each-other/ https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/lets-fight-for-each-other-not-each-other/#respond Fri, 06 Aug 2021 02:19:14 +0000 https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/lets-fight-for-each-other-not-each-other/ As I write this column, we find ourselves as a city in hopeful but difficult times. But whatever circumstances we face, I’m sure we’ll collectively speak up and demonstrate what makes this city so special – it’s the people.

We are living in hopeful days as we see our oil and gas industry start to thrive again. There is new energy in the fields and people are going back to work. Businesses are reopening and the pace of life is accelerating. We begin to have the impression of entering a new and better normal.

We are living in hopeful days as our schools reopen and the children return to class. Our educators who worked under unprecedented circumstances last year are stepping up once again to guide the spirit of the most critical element of our future – our children.

But, even as we glimpse a new and better future, we face a now-familiar old enemy in COVID-19. I’m sure I don’t have to revisit variant news and what’s going on across the country, state, and within our city. But maybe I can take a few more minutes of your time and look to cheer you on in what I think we can do together again in this next season of challenges.

Like 2020, I am convinced that the greatest weapon for the good that we have as a city is our concern for each other. When we faced previous flare-ups in 2020, we galvanized our collective will and supported each other. In the end, we “curved the curves” and served our fellow citizens and we made a better day. And now, at the end of summer 2021, we see ourselves in another fight with an old nemesis who likes to dress in new clothes and go after us. So what can we do?

First, no matter how loud the various national opinions, mandates and policies are, I hope you will consult your doctor and family and make the vaccination decision that you think is the right one. Additionally, while making a personal health decision, let’s choose not to demonize or label anyone who makes a different decision than we assume they should be making. There will come a day when we return to the raging national debate we have embarked on regarding immunization status and realize that we could have done so in a more reasonable and honorable way. Let us choose the reasonable and honorable path today right here in Midland.

Second, let’s continue to honor the most vulnerable among us and be aware of our surroundings as we continue on a healthy path. If you feel like you need to wear a mask, then wear a mask. If you feel you want people to wear masks in your business, ask people to wear masks in your business. And, whatever the personal or professional choice regarding masks, let us remember that it is our compatriots in the Midlands who make their best personal decision. Let us honor the personal choice of the other.

Third, let’s continue to offer our support and prayers to those on the front lines of our healthcare in what must seem like an endless battle through the ups and downs of COVID. Our support can come from public and private praise as well as from careful consideration of the practices and decisions described above. Ultimately, we are all Midland Health by the choices we make and the habits we form. The more we each choose to care for ourselves in consultation with our doctors and families, the more we can serve our collective health in Midland and our health care providers who continue to stand guard on the front line.

Finally, let’s continue to fight for each other and not against each other, which seems so prevalent across the country. Most of you have been on the front lines trying to work from home or return to the office. Or maybe you’ve worked in a grocery store all the time and this whole pandemic has started, serving on the front line of supply. Or maybe you are a parent who has unwittingly learned to home school. Or maybe you are a small business owner who burns the candle at both ends to make the payroll and find a way out of the other side of the past year and a half. Either way, we’re all sort of on our own front lines so let’s fight for each other and not against each other and do what we’ve done before … take care and respect- us each other with great vigilance, security and sacrifice.

Corrie fans terrified of ‘devil’s child’ Hope as she sets living room apartment on fire with pregnant Alina inside https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/corrie-fans-terrified-of-devils-child-hope-as-she-sets-living-room-apartment-on-fire-with-pregnant-alina-inside/ https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/corrie-fans-terrified-of-devils-child-hope-as-she-sets-living-room-apartment-on-fire-with-pregnant-alina-inside/#respond Tue, 03 Aug 2021 09:23:40 +0000 https://candlesandcandlemaking.com/corrie-fans-terrified-of-devils-child-hope-as-she-sets-living-room-apartment-on-fire-with-pregnant-alina-inside/

Coronation Street viewers are seriously frightened by Hope Stape’s ‘evil’ behavior after starting a fire in her stepfather’s house with his pregnant girlfriend inside.

Consumed by hatred and jealousy towards Tyrone who is expecting a baby with her new partner Alina Pop, she broke into the apartment above the living room where Alina was sleeping.

Hope, who had stolen Alina’s keys, was seen staring at a lit aromatherapy candle and the baby’s bed.

Smoke was then seen seeping under the bedroom door while Alina slept.

Hope is jealous that Alina and Tyrone are expecting a baby boy

Neighbors called 999 and Alina was rushed to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.

The daughter of Fiz Stape and her ex-husband, serial killer John Stape, only knew Tyrone as a father, so she didn’t take the news that he was having a baby well.

In Monday’s episode, Hope, who lives with Fiz and Tyrone’s daughter Ruby, with his late ex-wife Kirsty Soames, heard that Alina and Tyrone were expecting a son, causing the girl to rage furiously.

The fire started while Alina was sleeping

She said “I’m not your sweetheart” to a stunned Alina as she tried to be nice to her.

And she told Fiz “he’s going to love the baby more than me and Ruby,” complaining that she heard Tyrone say he always wanted a baby boy.

Hope yelled, “I hate him and I hate this baby!”

A horrified Fiz sent Hope to her bedroom, but then she pulled out the stolen keys to Alina’s apartment in her coat pocket and escaped the house while her grandmother Evelyn Plummer slept and Fiz was at the store.

Corrie fans took to Twitter in terror.

“Hope is a psychopath, she is the daughter of John’s Stapes,” said one of them.

“What’s wrong with Hope?” Is he some kind of devil’s child? another asked.

“Hope is a devil’s child !! 666,” another tweeted.

“Hope is a serial killer in the making,” tweeted another concerned fan.

“Why is Hope so bad? Another asked.

“Hope is an evil child. I can’t stand it,” gasped another.

But others loved the drama.

Alina went to the hospital

“What happened to young Hope on #Corrie? She hadn’t been there in ages and now she’s suddenly a sassy little lady. A queen. An icon,” clapped another soap watcher.

“Hope is just jealous, that’s all. She feels pushed back,” said another.

Troubled Hope had already started a fire in the Underworld factory in 2019 and shocked viewers by hiding a lighter in her doll’s head.

The problematic child played by Isabella Flanagan also attempted to hurt her cousin Joseph by trying to convince him that he could fly and she put Evelyn Cerberus’ dog on a tram to Rochdale.

She had previously been taken to a specialist school in Birmingham in an attempt to sort out her bad behavior, but it seems her problems resurfaced after Tyrone fell in love with tenant Alina and left the family unit.

Luckily, Alina assures Tyrone that she and the baby are fine on Wednesday’s double bill.

As the fire is investigated, an officer tells Tyrone that it appears the fire was started by an aromatherapy candle. Alina is horrified to think that she caused the fire with one of her candles.

But suspicion is raised when Hope wonders if the person who started the fire will be in trouble.

After reviewing the firefighters’ findings, Alina tells Tyrone that in order for the fire to start in the cot, someone had to move the candle.

The small country village of Quandialla in west-central New South Wales is famous for its candles. They are the most searched item in the village on Google, before school, pub and hospital.

The success of Quandialla Candle Company can be attributed to Sarah Ryan. But even though she was born near the village, she was not born into candle making.

The former high school visual arts teacher started making candles as a hobby while pregnant with her and her husband Trevor’s third child, Clementine, in 2011.

Tired of seeing candles in generic jars, Sarah set out to create a candle with a touch of yesteryear. Inspiration came from a 1943 tin of yeast collecting dust in a little old cottage on the Ryan family farm in Quandialla.

“It was this beautiful round box with a navy blue and cream paper label,” Sarah explains. “There was this beautiful ‘scrolly’ font and a pretty wordy description.

“I thought it would be wonderful with a candle in it, so I took a picture and sent it to my designer friend. He knew exactly what I was looking for and quickly sent me the label that is on the box now. I chose the name Quandialla Candle Company because it comes out of the tongue.

Sarah makes the candles from her home workshop and is proud to see her hometown name displayed in stores everywhere.

“Quandialla is such a cool name,” she says. “It’s probably not ideal for people who google it because it’s hard to spell, but I thought it was a way to put the city on the map. Now if you tell people you’re coming of Quandialla, they say: “Oh, the candles!”

The candles are made from soy wax, which lasts longer and is better for the environment than traditional wax.

Each candle is handmade by Sarah and each label is handwritten on one of Sarah’s five typewriters, which are in different working order.

“I have an electric one, but sometimes the letters don’t stick to the label very well,” she says. “I love using the old ones because the letters come out a bit crooked, even though they are hard on the fingers.”

The candles elicit heartwarming images of a hot bubble bath on a rainy day or a simmered dinner with wine and friends. Sarah loves to hear and have the memories people create with candles at home, especially lately with mouse plague.

“Lighting a candle is such a pleasant ritual, especially in winter around the fire or at night,” explains Sarah. “Everyone loves a scented candle.”

However, she never imagined that her candles would provide her with a full-time job soon after selling them for the first time at the local preschool market. Now, Quandialla Candle Company can be found in stores across NSW.

While this is mostly a one-woman show, Sarah surrounds herself with her friends during peak periods. One of them is when she makes the annual Christmas candle, which has become something of a collector’s item.

“I sometimes call a girlfriend and just ask her to unwrap the tin cans or put wicks in the containers – I tried to get my kids to help out and even offered to pay my two teenage sons. but that doesn’t seem to work, ”Sarah laughs.

When it comes to finding scents, like the Weddin Mountains Bush Walk candle, Sarah works backwards.

“I buy a lot of perfume samples: base notes, middle notes and top notes,” she says. “I can decide I want something that smells like grass / leaf / grass or has a woody smell. I’m not a perfumer so it can be difficult, but you can get the scents already made.

“There was a scent I tried that was described as ‘native to leafy Australia’ and it reminded me to walk in the bush. Those smells of fresh pine, or eucalyptus and acacia flowers that we meet in the Weddin Mountains where we walk in the bush.

Sarah is not the type to have airs and graces and has developed a strong following on social media for her authentic posts that give us a window into life on the farm, including when family is a priority and orders are late.

“I’m not very good at pretending,” she says.

It’s that connection and beautiful images of candles stacked on old books or perched in a cozy corner that make you want to buy Sarah’s candles.

Thus, she created Mecoco which stands for Significant Contribution in Your Community, for young people with and without disabilities to work on making candles for sale.

And now Mecoco is celebrating two years of activity and has a base in Dalry where customers can come and see the team at work.

Now they have had the opportunity to host a booth in the John Lewis department store in Glasgow for a week in August.

“We hope the whole team will join us throughout the week and we hope people will come and say hello,” Jenny said.

“It’s a huge recognition of the quality of our products and the progress made over the past two years.

“We will be there August 2-8 in the gift space on the ground floor of the store and we can’t wait.”

It is an exciting time for Mecoco as they are also celebrating their second anniversary in business.

And founder Jenny Trott is thrilled to see the business grow.

“I can’t believe that two years ago I had a simple dream: to allow James to have a job after leaving school,” Jenny said.

“Now we have 24 people working with us every week and a huge range of products that we proudly sell. ”

From July 19, Mecoco will launch new products to celebrate its anniversary with many goodies for customers as well.

Jenny continued, “I had never made a candle in my life, but after attending a workshop I thought it would be a good idea and once I talked to James about it we decided to go.”
